...is an organization of volunteers whose goals are to provide access to and support for the arts.
It is a public space for artists to exhibit, network and exchange ideas.
Formally set up as a gallery and exhibition space, THE SPACE is transformed weekly to provide access to as many diverse ideas as possible. The cost in keeping THE SPACE open requires submission fees from individual artists to show in the collaborative exhibitions and the rental fees from individuals and groups of artists who reserve THE SPACE for exhibition.
We also depend on external donations.
Through this support we are able to maintain THE SPACE and achieve further goals.
One mission of THE SPACE is to provide a link between emerging artists and professional artists. Artists learn to curate exhibitions and market their work. This allows artists an opportunity to be involved in every aspect of showing their work (an experience critical to becoming professional).
Another mission of THE SPACE is bringing the public to the arts by creating a venue that allows the public to view art and meet with the artists in an interactive environment. As for prospective buyers, you will be contributing to an extensive network of emerging artists. The Living Arts, our sister non-profit organization will be able to achieve our goals of providing educational support such as; portfolio presentation workshops, sculpture, painting, and drawing classes. We also host lectures, musical and dance performance.
It is a place allowed to grow itself with the ideas of many different artists feeding its existence and keeping it alive. ALL ideas are welcome and we strongly encourage you to share them.
